It's Nice to have FRIENDS-Penny Black July Saturday Challenge

***JULY***

Friendship

Crafting time is still in short supply these days...I was sad not to make my annual 4th of July paper treat holders for everyone at work, but hey I did get time to color this cute image up this week! I really think it is one of my very fave stamps ever! These critters certainly have a little picnic party going on!

I colored the image, cut it out with my pierced circle die from Lawn Fawn, cut some more circles with my Silhouette for matting and added it all on an antique doily that I cut with my Silhouette as well. Card size is about 5.5 inches round.

I Wheelie Like You!

I made this CAS card using this fun sketch from Try Stampin'-or not- On Tuesday Challenge blog.
It has been a long time since I have played along with a sketch challenge...I have forgotten how much I love them!

Today I am using a fun Lawn Fawn stamp set with coordinating dies  and a Taylored Expression road die. The banner is cut with my Silhouette.  For the little gerbils, I stamped one critter on clear acetate to get a mirror image. The image was not very dark, so I went over it with a copic multi liner pen. (.30) and that worked out pretty slick.

Thanks for stopping by today!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-(on Tuesday)-Happy Birthday

Our very talented Floating DT Teamie; Kate Wiles, is hosting and has chosen

~ CONGRATULATIONS ~

(or anything goes-and that's what I did!)

Yesirreeee I am a wee bit late for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge # 197...but I can say I have a good reason. Besides working everyday in the summer...I wanted to make a special card for a little guy that needed a little lift for his birthday.  On one of the facebook groups someone posted about a little fellow that had Aspergers. His Mom planned a wonderful 7th birthday party for him and not one guest showed up.  Isn't that just heartbreaking???  I wanted  this to be a bright and cheerful card, so I thought and then I thought some more(is that Winnie the Pooh that talks like that?)...here is his birthday card! I hope he gets a thrill if for no other reason that it came from the other side of the United States!

I used my new Birthday Cone stamp by Stampendous, and a fun cut file from Lori Whitlock along with some super bright Bo Bunny Surprise! cardstock. (links below)  This was colored with copics-like a gazillion of them...let's see if I remember them all! Sorry for the wonky pics again-it has been windy as can be here and hard to get a nice, still photo!

My ice cream  just had to be chocolate ice cream...tis the season for cool treats!

A top view of this fun fold designed by Lori Whitlock.

I had to play around with my new Copic Kirarina WiNK pens and use one gold glitter for the candle flames and the white one for the white on the  balloons-these are super fun. Wish I had more time to play with them!

I hope you enjoy our House Mouse Challenge this time-and good golly-look at all the fun prizes listed below!!!

Let's pick Sweet Strawberries!

I am sure you can all relate to wanting to craft...but being too tired to craft, but giving it a whirl anyway...Either it works out wonderfully...or it can be a comedy of errors.  In this case the project came together sweetly...but gosh...taking pics on a windy day is no fun. I was trying to keep the background paper in place without "losing my strawberries" LOL.  In fact one of my poor strawberries flew up in the air and blew away-it was that windy.  Good grief ---I never did find it. Luckily my daughter stopped by for a quick visit and helped me hold things down...sorry I had to crop out her designer nails from the pictures, but they were pretty!

Today I am showing off this Sweet Strawberry Thinlet Die Set designed by Lori Whitlock from Inspiration Emporium (she also designed the bushel basket I cut with my Silhouette.) So this project actually turned into a Lori Whitlock lovefest.

This would make such a nice  quick and easy gift to give...it really was very fast!

I thought it was easier to put the brad in all the petals but one and then just tuck in the last petal after sticking the candy treat inside. Worked just dandy!

House Mouse Star Spangled Mice HMFMC196

Our mega talented Teamie Heather, is hosting and has chosen this great theme;

~ HOLIDAYS ~

Tis the season to pull out this new and colorful stamp for the 4th of July holiday

I started this monthly calendar project in January and did great for January and February, and then it fizzled out until now...now I am ahead of the game--woohooo!!! You can see the other months HERE.

Thanks for popping in today to see what's happening around here...crafting time is at a premium because it is that time again...cherry harvest. I work everyday during the summer so I don't get to craft as much as I normally do! Sheesh!

Oh well, I hope you pop in to the HMFMC blog to check out all the other mid week reminder inspiration creations! You have one more week to join in our challenge!

I am linking to these challenges!

Penny Black and Birds Cards

I told you I made a couple cards with this same pretty cut file from Birds Cards (linked below). Here  they are! I used two different shades of bazzill cardstock to make the pretty white cut file pop.

I made this same card for the White on White Penny Black Challenge. You can see it here.

Sorry to be absent lately-but cherry harvest has hit, so there are no days off until August-kills my stamping time!!! Dang it.....

I love this 'pearls and glitter' creation!!! The lovely cut file freebie from Birds Cards is a perfect frame for this birthday celebration! (see links below) Looks so clean all in white! I did make some other cards in pastel colors using the same cut file.  I will show them to you next week-(it is always nice to make several cards at a time to build up your stash)!

The main layer is added on pop dots for the extra added dimension and some glitter frosting added for that extra shine!

Freebies! Donut know what I'd do without you!

Do you love freebies?  Having a Silhouette machine has sure changed my crafting style...(or maybe made it easier and took it to a new level) as I have always been one for fun shapes and fun fold cards!

Today I am showing you a fun little gift card freebie that I got from Lettering Delights this past weekend.  Super cute...I made it as a print and cut, but it did come as layers as well. Thank you Lettering Delights and also to all the other Companies and individuals listed below. They are so generous with their time and product!

Where do you find your favorite freebies for your cutting machine? Many companies have a freebie in their weekly newsletter and some post on their blogs or business sites as well.  Also, many individual  blogs share freebies too!

These freebies are  a great source of inspiration and an easy way to  start  building your file library and deciding which designer you want to look into further!

These freebies usually come in different file forms.---  .studio files are used in the Silhouette software, but if you have the designer edition-you can use .svgs as well just by adding cut lines. There are also other file types that will work as well, but I stick to .studio and .svg files.

Here is a list of some of  my favorites-please feel free to share your favorite sites with me and I will add to this list! If you look at the right hand side of my blog (scroll down a ways)  you will see a list of blogs (sadly needing updating-I have found sooo many new inspiration blogs).  All on the list below have freebies, but some of the other blogs listed off to the right side of my blog have  cut file inspiration too-not freebies!

Don't miss them!!!

~ In The Kitchen ~
ALL challenges do have the alternate option of *ANYTHING GOES* too!

Happy June to you all! We have had a lovely warm week here in Oregon, but the TV news tells me that will change soon. We are getting into the cherry harvest here, so that means lots of work for me. The cherries are totally delish this year!!!

I made this cutie for the midway reminder post today over at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  I used a new House Mouse stamp named Mixed Up and used a cute  Lori Whitlock box card and Michaels baking designer paper.
