WOYWW 211-Yummy Stuff!

Every month I go to a recipe Cook Book Club at my local papercrafting store-Urban Paper!  We get to taste a recipe and then scrap it. Tonight was Warm Chocolate Cakes with Marshmallow Meringue. Delish!!!!
We used some new Authentique papers, glassine bag to hold recipe pages, cloth washi tape for the cake and page tabs and some new Tim Holtz wrinkle ribbon(okay Jill-I already forgot the official name of it!)

And here is my desk-waiting for me to get home from Cook Book Club-new Great Impressions stamps on one side(with real unfun  paperwork hidden underneath), an Art Impressions image colored up and waiting to be made into a card and a whole pile of new goodies from Inspiration Emporium off to the right! I have good stuff just waiting for me!

That's my desk for tonight! I am working cherry harvest now, so my WOYWW posts are a little hit and miss, but I will try to be here when I can!  I am hopping over to Julia's house -Stamping Ground right now to see What's On Her Workdesk Wednesday!  See you there....

Wishing You Tons of Happy Days

Welcome to Jammie Day Sunday!

Hello to you all this morning! I do hope you enjoy your oaties and cocoa ...and do a little crafty inspiration surfing this morning-what better way to start off the day?  Unfortunately, it is cherry harvest time here in Oregon, so I am off to work. (Yes, cherries ripen 7 days a week LOL!)  This morning I had to trade in my slippers and pj's for work clothes and car keys...what kind of trade is that?....geez....

Today I went very clean and simple-these stamps  seem to take very few embellies to make them shine, don't you think?
These are  new release stamps from Great Impressions

My crafty friend Deloris has been rockin' tur-ker-roiz cards lately and I could not get them out of my head. Seems turquoise and white  is such crisp and clean combo!

I opened my new pack of Simple Stories SN@P! color  vibe papers (yes, I have been saving them for a special occassion card-but aren't they all?)...so here we go!

The little kite and elephant are added on with pop dots to add a little extra dimension. I cut the half banner for the sentiment with my Silhouette. Added a little twine with a bow and added the completed panel onto the card base with dimensionals.

I think this is one of my favorite Great Impressions card...although I think that of every card I make. My time on the design team is coming to an end-June 30th will be my last posting for the team, but certainly not my last Great Impression's cards...so let's not be sad!

Right now there is a sale going on at Great Impressions-20% off and free shipping in the US with a $25 order. A great deal!

Please take a few minutes to pop over to the Great  Impressions Blog and see what the rest of the team has been up to. Our June challenge is Leave A Little Sparkle.

Sorry for being so chatty today-just wanted to say thanks for stopping in to say Hello-I always look forward to your visits!

Something Old... Something New Creations by AR

Hello!!!-So glad you popped in to my  Something Old...Something New Creations by AR post today.  Can you believe it? ---Almost the 4th of July already...where does the time go?

Each Wednesday Creations by AR Design Team show off a file that has been in the store for a while-designing a new look for past templates!

I whipped up these super cute Peek-A-Boo Cases to use for 4th of July treats! They are so quick and easy you could make a batch in just a few minutes!
Of course  I had to made a couple different color combo's...

I found this fun candy at Winco! When I went to the big city, I found this holiday candy-this small town girl was tickled!!! Geeze-simple things make me so happy!
I did not cover the window of the case with acetate, but instead chose to add the candy in a little treat bag, folded it over and plopped it into the case bottom. And I did not even eat one piece of the candy...but I wanted too. I thought you might notice a piece missing...

I added a cute little firecracker(not included in the pattern) that I already had and a little twine and I was done!

You can find this template at Creations by AR.

Thanks for popping in today!

Hang In There

Jammie Day Sunday!

Hello to you all this morning! I am here to share this fun 3D card-reminds me of a diorama card. I love the dimension! This poor kitty is hanging on for dear life...off an Oregon cherry tree LOL!

This is another card for my coworker that is still sick. He is healing, but oh so slowly. This one I will set on his desk-words of encouragement to be patient.

I cut out the 3d card, tree, grass and banner with my Silhouette. I extended the length of the branch with a copic multi-liner so that it would be long enough to reach the full width of the window and a wee bit more so that I could tape it to the inside of the card. To finish it off I added the scenery and sentiment banner. Done!

Right now there is a sale going on at Great Impressions-20% off and free shipping in the US with a $25 order. A great deal!

Please take a few minutes to pop over to the Great  Impressions Blog and see what the rest of the team has been up to. Our June challenge is Leave A Little Sparkle.

Graduation Cards 2013

 Boy Grad
Girl Grad

Graduation card time!  I found this really awesome Graduation card HERE at Sabriolet Designs that I totally loved and had to case as close as I could. She had some gorgeous DCWV paper and hers is more 'classy' than mine-but I chose school colors so mine turned out pretty bright...what's new right? LOL

For my friends/family that just purchased their Silhouette, I am going to show you how I made this.

Cut out numbers (2.105 x 1.415-font is  Bernard MT Condensed)
Boy Grad is 3.5 inches tall

(To make shadows-chose the icon that looks like a bullseye at the bottom of the screen or the 6th icon from the right in DE-you can choose Offset or Internal Offset )

Make an offset shadow (.075)of the red numbers (2013) and then nudge the shadows together with your arrow keys (select a shape and then hit an arrow key to slighty nudge any shape)
Remember to pull you original number or shape back off the mat
Weld the 2013 shadows together
Make another copy of the shadow
Make an offset shadow (.075)of the Grad-pull the original grad off the mat
Weld the Grad shadow to the second 2013 shadow

Make a red shadow (.075) of numbers and Grad
Make a black offset shadow of the Red set (.25)
Make a second copy of the black shadow-pull one of the mat for later
Make a yellow inset shadow of the black piece for the inside of the card (.50)

Here you can see that yellow inset shadow added inside the card.
To make the card base select the black shadow piece, go to
Object, Transformation, Mirror Options, and finally Mirror above. Slick huh?
You will need to nudge the two pieces to over lap each other slightly and then weld them together.
Here you can see the top layers I just made (all except the card base) I separated each of these layers by pop dots
Add to your card base. This is a pretty big card (7.5 x 4.25)

Now this looks like it would take forever, but it was quick and easy! The hardest part was figuring out the colors of the layers and keeping them all straight.

There you go Melissa, Linda and Ann!

Great Impressions and Playdate Cafe Color Challenge #185

Won't you join the Great Impressions Design Team for the Play Date Cafe Color Challenge?  See the pretty colors below?---lovely indeed--- it should be an easy one to play along with!

Here you can see I stamped the THANKS sentiment on some clear acetate with Staz On and colored the flowers with my copic pen on the back side.

I cut this great little grey polka dot box from a Lori Whitlock file I got from the Silhouette Store. It has 4 compartments inside  to add goodies too. I also cut some rolled flowers/leaves and added pearls and rhinestone embellies.

I then I added these totally yummy Macadamia Salted Caramel  Chocolates (from Costco). Totally yummy, totally yummy, totally yummy-(not saying how many I ate while taking these pictures either)

Thanks for stopping in! Do hop over to the Great Impressions Blog and the Play Date Cafe Challenge Blog  to see the rest of the creations.

WOYWW 209-Grandbabies!

A visit to see my daughter and grandsons brings this project!

Working on a project for teacher helper appreciation gifts for my school teacher daughter Erin. Using the print and cut feature on the Silhouette cutting out oranges. She is filling bags with all orange things like orange candy, drink, cheeto's etc and putting a label that says Orange you glad it's summer?!!!  We had a great time shopping for orange things to put in the bag too. And she is glad it is almost summer too...
Here is a close up of the little school bus boxes you saw on my desk last week-a cute Silhouette store cut file.

But here is what I really want to show off from my recent visit to their house-
Cole and Luke ready to play.
I told Cole his outfit looked like Christmas-so colorful --- he rolled his eyes at me and said "Gwamma-don't you know??? Black goes with everything!!!) The pants had a tiny black stripe. How could I miss that.....LOL

Cole in his bunk bed with his little stuffed animal peeking through the bed slats. Sound asleep.
Cole showing Gwamma how he rides his big boy bike! I can't believe he will be 6 in August!
Lukey (age 3)with an Oregon Ducks megaphone(his parents were cheerleaders at U of O) Even though it is as big as he is, he tried to yell  through it-giving it a good ole' try through the wrong end.
Lukey driving Gwamma's car-and yes the little stinker found the horn and finally had to be banished from the car !

So there you go for me this week-a quick peek at my desk and a visit with my little baby boys too!

Stop over and say Hello to Julia and the crowd at the Stamping Ground and see lots of desks from around the world!

See you Thursday!

Happy Summer!

Ants!!!

Yikes are they a pain, but oh so cute on this little card! I made this fun little summer card with a mini Lawn Fawn stamp set named Happy Summer from Inspiration Emporium.   I embossed my kraft cardstock, added  rows of watermelon slices and those darned ants, finished it off with some ribbon and the sentiment. Watermelon is about my favorite food in the whole wide world, so I have to LOVE this card!

Those ants remind me of a story...

When I first started stamping, I had friends that would make their cards and when they made a mistake, they would stamp a little ant close to the mistake-sort of like their mistake "signature".  We always looked forward to the little ants!

Summer is getting closer-can't wait for those sweet watermelons-can you???!

WOYWW 208-4 year anniversary!

Thanks to all my fellow What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday friends! You do bring sunshine to my life! It has been 4 years since our leader Mzzz Julia started WOYWW! Where has the time gone??? I did not get around to making any ATC's, but I would love to send one of these cards to a fellow WOYWW'er(one must go to the Mrs. of course.). Please leave me a heads up in your comment if you would like me to send you one!( I will draw to see who I send to.)

I have been playing along for a little over 3 years now...I had to go back and look at all my WOYWW posts over these last years(here is my very first post)-pretty funny to see the progression of my desk/craft area-through crafting and wedding preparations for my daughter too! I love to see the chronicle of my life in terms of my desk! What fun! A person can not ask for better friends than I have met hangin' at Julia's house!

This week I have been rearranging my crafty area again...slowly bringing my upstairs craft room down to my family room. I have mixed feeling about the move...I LOVE my upstairs craft room, but it is so isolated-and I  love being in the family room-that way I can craft everyday. A catch 22-who thinks they will end up with a craft room within a main space...leave it up to me!

A neat technique I saw on a challenge a while back. The sentiment is stamped on the base card and then stamped again on the sun and then aligned to give a 3D effect. Cool huh?  This lovely stamp is a Technique Tuesday stamp by Ali Edwards-I told you you would see more of this stamp set. This lovely quote stamp plays nicely into the Inspiration Emporium Quote Challenge for May. You can see the challenge here . You all would love this challenge-a lot of altered art in this May challenge, and I know how you all love your altered projects!

I had to make a couple to see which one I liked the best!

My desk this week not too messy, but do you see anything new? Not saying-will wait to see if you can figure it out! You can see The Voice on TV at the other side of the room,  some cute little school bus boxes sitting on my desk that I made a while back...just lots of schtuff......now--have you figured it out yet?

Well here we go-on to year 5!!! Thanks Mrs. Dunnit!
